NORMOOR PHASE I, II, III

NORMOOR JIP – ON SAFE MOORING LINE DESIGN – PHASE I

Main Objective:

To establish the reliability of the designs of mooring lines, from a probabilistic point of view regarding the environmental, numerical and strength conditions of the components and to calculate the reliability level implicit in existing standards for the Ultimate Limit State (ULS) of the mooring lines.

Main Participants:

DNV, Total, SBM and Vicinay Cadenas.

Execution Period:

2011-2014.

NORMOOR JIP – ON SAFE MOORING LINE DESIGN – PHASE II

Main Objective:

To calculate the reliability level implicit in existing standards for the Accidental Limit State (ALS) of the mooring lines.

Main Participants:

DNV, Total, SBM and Vicinay Cadenas.

Execution Period:

2014-2016.

NORMOOR JIP – ON SAFE MOORING LINE DESIGN – PHASE III

Main Objective:

To calculate the reliability level implicit in existing standards for the fatigue limit state (FLS) of the mooring lines and quantify the relationship between failure probability and safety factor(s).

To identify the most important parameter for fatigue and how to address this in the design code and to calibrate new safety factors for the FLS as a function of a probability of failure.

Main Participants:

DNV GL AS, Shell, BP, Aker BP, Statoil, Engie, Total, Petrobras and Vicinay Marine Innovación.

Execution Period:

2017-2021.
